Folk singer Albena Veskova is a graduate of the National School of Folk Arts in Shiroka Luka and the Academy for Music, Dance and Visual Art in Plovdiv.
For seven years she worked with the world famous “The Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices” with which she gave guest performances in many countries across the world. Since 2003 soloist of the National Folk Ensemble Bulgare. Has been part of various music projects – concert with the Balkan Horses band, appearances at the Sprit of Bourgas Festival, where she presented a modern techno-house project. In early 2011 Albena Veskova, Tony Zlatanov (piano) and Vladimir Velichkov (shepherd’s pipe) teamed up to form the Albena Veskova Quintet. With it they presented their own arrangements of folk songs with a modern sound. The quintet also includes Emil Pehlivanov (drums) and Dimiter Karamfilov (double bass).
Tony Zlatanov is one of the most promising jazz and pop musicians in Bulgaria. Works with well-known performers like Ben Cross, Mary Taneva, Poly Genova, Vassil Petrov, Maria Ilieva, Misho Yossifov, to mention but a few.
The virtuoso instrumentalist Vladimir Velichkov belongs to the newest generation of talented artists, seeking their own style and original interpretation. He improvises with ease, skilfully blending jazz, fusion and ethno. Has played with the Bulgarian greats in the genre – Ivo Papazov, Theodosii Spassov, Stoyan Yankulov. As well as with world famous names.
